From dreamer to writer
I have always wanted to be a writer, but due to some kind of writer's block, I never did it. I just held my thoughts inside my mind, with plans to put them on paper or a screen that never materialized.
The closest I got to being a writer was when I helped write a few S-1 filings (a 200-300 page company document produced for an IPO), or writing consulting reports when I worked as an engineer. And honestly, I never received compliments for my excellent writing. On the contrary, more than once my managers or peers read my writing with me, pointing out all the poor style and grammar.
It is funny when passion doesn't follow talent. My passion was there in my odd texts about women's rights, injustice, or sports, and for that, I got compliments. But still, I felt handicapped, like a car with a strong motor but no wheels.
Then came ChatGPT and Claude, they worked as lungs that helped me breathe deeper than ever. I first started asking it to help me write based on some initial notes, then to improve my existing drafts, then to correct grammar and provide suggestions that I accepted or not. Then, once I felt that my grammar or unsophisticated flow was no longer holding me back, a flow of ideas in the most creative and passionate way came through me, inundating my pages, making its mark with passion in every sentence.
That is why I am confident that with AI, more people will have opportunities to find their talents and quickly gain the skills they need to shine.
